Fun Times at the Lake Cabin

The Hut Crew, aka friends of Kees & Claire, just returned from an amazing weekend at the Dixon's (Claire's family) cabin at Allison Lake. Claire's parents Mark & Susan were absolutely amazing hosts, first for even daring to invite 20 people to their cabin, and then for following up with amazing food and hospitality.

The weekend was a awesome opportunity for everyone to get to know each other better, and to visit the Dixon's under happier circumstances.

We're Now a Society!

We're excited to announce we are now officially a society... the Kees & Claire Memorial Hut Society. What does this mean? We can now set up a bank account and begin accepting donations towards the hut project. We're excited to get things underway.

Possible Collaboration with BCMC

We're excited to announce we've had some positive meetings with the BCMC (British Columbia Mountaineering Club) members, and there's a possibility of joining forces to build one epic hut in the name of Kees & Claire.

Details are still in their infancy, but we're currently working on hut locations that meet both groups criteria and end goals. Stay tuned for more.

First Fundraiser Event a Success

The Kees & Claire fundraiser event held November 10 at the Howe Sound Brew Pub in Squamish was better than I could have ever imagined. By my guess there was about 150 people who turned up from all corners of the province including Claire’s Dad and brother!! We raised just over $2000 that is going towards the memorial hut. There’s still a long way to go, but we’re excited to jump start the project. And beyond the numbers, it was a blast, and great to get everyone together!
